Did you know that accounting has been around for thousands of years? In fact, the earliest records of accounting date back to ancient Mesopotamia, where clay tablets were used to track trades and livestock. 📋
But the first person to be recognised as a professional accountant was Luca Pacioli, an Italian mathematician and monk from the 15th century. Often called the Father of Accounting, he wrote the first book on double-entry bookkeeping in 1494 – a system that’s still in use today!
